Product Features
We Custom produce cutting boards out of our Virginia manufacturing facility in various sizes, shapes and wood species. We prefer to manufacture out of Solid Walnut, Solid Maple, Solid Cherry, Solid Hickory or Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) because these wood species are known as a “hard” wood which is a necessity for a cutting board. Based on our experience, we can always recommend or advise on other wood species.
Why do we not stock Bamboo or Teak boards? Bamboo and Teak are imported materials (China or India). We do inventory and can manufacture with these materials but prices may be more expensive than U.S. grown woods. Most items you find out of these materials in retail stores tend to be imported items.
Yes, our boards are Prop 65 approved. We use a food safe mineral oil which is not toxic to the end user. When selecting a food safe finish, you can choose either “natural wood” or a “food-safe mineral oil” which protects the beauty and longevity of the product.
